Role Purpose

The Culinary Graduate will be involved in the creation and refinement of new food products, working closely with the New Product Development (NPD) team. This role offers a hands-on experience in product development, from concept through to testing and launch, providing an excellent platform for graduates to build a career in the food industry.

Key Responsibilities

Product Testing: Participate in testing and sensory analysis to ensure products meet quality and taste standards. Assist in organizing and conducting taste tests and other evaluation methods.

Product Development: Basic knowledge of food science principles and the ability to apply them in a practical context.

Development Support: Contribute to the development of new products by assisting with ingredient sourcing, recipe formulation, and prototype development.

Data Analysis: Analyse test data and results to make informed recommendations for product improvements or adjustments.

Supplier Liaison: Work with suppliers to source ingredients and materials, ensuring they meet the necessary quality and cost parameters.

Documentation: Maintain detailed records of product formulations, test results, and development progress to ensure traceability and consistency.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to evaluate product performance and make data-driven decisions.

Creativity: Ability to think creatively about product concepts and improvements.

Attention to Detail: Precision in documenting product formulations and test results.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Educational Background: Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Process and Food Technology, or related fields. Candidates with a strong interest in food product development from other relevant disciplines may also be considered.

Industry Experience: Previous experience in food product development or a related field is highly desirable.

Skills: Understanding of sensory analysis, ingredient functionality, and basic food processing technologies.

Personal Attributes

Enthusiasm & Willingness to Learn: Open to new experiences and eager to acquire knowledge in the meat processing industry.

Organised: Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Collaborative: A team-oriented approach to working with colleagues across different functions.

Other Role Information

Location: Some travel between company sites in the UK and Ireland may be required.
