The Role

This is a permanent role based out of our Northern Cross Office and reports to our Quality Manager.

As a QA Co-ordinator, you will be an integral part of the team and through focus, expertise and passion will ensure Bewley’s is an enriching experience for customers and colleagues.

Overall responsibility:

  • This role has responsibility for providing expertise and management support to the business in all food safety, quality, and environmental management activities.
  • Core Responsibilities
    • Assisting with the management of the day-to-day activities within the Quality Assurance Team.
    • Ensure compliance with food safety, legal and GMP requirements.
    • Assisting in the management and implementation of site certifications i.e. ISO14001, BRC Global Food Standard, Organic Standards, Rainforest Alliance Standards.
    • Assisting with the preparation of annual carbon emissions report in accordance with the requirements of ISO14064-1 and provide support with the audit process for NX.
    • Responding to requests for technical information from internal and external customers.
    • Ensuring all new packaging artwork is compliant with legal labelling requirements and ensuring the correct keylines are in use in line with factory packing machine capability.
    • Providing support to the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure the Operations and QA team KPI’s are achieved.
    • Providing support with all site certification and customer audits and leading unannounced site audits in the absence of the Quality Assurance Manager.
    • Ensuring all products are produced to the required specification and that all processes are conducted in line with both good manufacturing practices and food hygiene legislation.
    • Ensuring that all customer requirements and food manufacturing standards are understood, implemented and maintained to achieve and maintain supplier approval status.
    • Supporting the review and approval of all new product introductions to the business including new supplier assessment and approval.
    • Maintaining and up-dating specifications for production and customer online specification systems as required.
    • Conducting internal audits and ensuring all necessary corrective and preventative actions are implemented
    • Managing customer complaints and implementing corrective and preventative action.
    • Resolving issues concerning non-conforming product, processes and procedures and implementation of preventive action.
    • Preparation of reports as required e.g. customer complaint reports, supplier non-compliance, audit follow up reports etc.
    • Providing support to the Quality Assurance Manager in managing and implementing the Pest Management Programme
