Role Purpose:To contribute to radio production and support volunteers, while also playing a key role in the planning and delivery of live events, special broadcasts, and outreach activities for the 30th anniversary of UCC98.3FM. This role bridges studio work with on-the-ground event support, ensuring that the station’s presence is felt both on-air and across campus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the production of radio content, including special anniversary-themed programming
- Support student and community volunteers in the studio and help them prepare event-related segments and features
- Coordinate with the Social Media and Print teams to maximise reach and visibility of events
- Provide logistical support for live events, including setup, signage, tech, and registration
- Liaise with artists, speakers, guests, and partners in advance of and during events
- Contribute to post-event content — interviews, audio packages, social media clips, etc.
- Support the documentation of events for future use and reporting (photos, logs, feedback)
Desired Competencies:
As with all our producer roles, full training will be provided. We’re looking for creative, energetic candidates who are excited about broadcasting and event delivery. Experience isn’t necessary — what matters most is your passion for media, enthusiasm for live events, and interest in student culture and community engagement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and logistical coordination abilities
- Interest in radio production and live media
- Willingness to learn audio equipment, planning tools, and broadcasting software
- Flexibility and ability to work occasional evenings or weekends (especially around events)
