In honour of International Women’s Day we are happy to share that we have reduced the gender pay gap in Lidl Ireland by 30% to 6.2% in one year! After an internal report was conducted in 2020, we discovered the gender pay gap in Lidl Ireland was 8.84%. Since then, we have been working hard to narrow this and, in the past year, have reduced the gender pay gap to 6.2%!

Supermarket chain Lidl will recruit more than 750 new employees to its Irish operations this year, while also introducing a pay increase for all of its workers.

I am Nikit. I am a software consultant at Guidewire. I joined Guidewire in early January 2020, and I am working in the Cloud Assurances team. I love to play sports with football being the one that I enjoy the most. I also like to watch TV series, travel, and meet new people from different cultures and backgrounds.

At Guidewire, we have a whole host of ERGs for colleagues to get involved with. Our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are employee-led groups made up of volunteer individuals who represent common interests, experiences, backgrounds, or demographics (e.g. race/ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, military status, religion, abilities, age, etc.). In today’s blog we’ll hear from co-lead, Angel, and members J. and Morgan on all things ONYX.

For those Computer Science students that have the opportunity to take part in an internship program, it can be one of the most important parts of their education, and in my case it certainly was.

The three of us chose to spend the summer interning at Guidewire Software because it was clear that the company strongly values coaching and learning for students who are interested in the software field, and we expected to learn a lot from the experience. During our internships, each of us worked on a different team within Guidewire’s Cloud Common Services organization (CCS).
