What is a Graduate Apprenticeship?

Graduate Apprenticeships are two-year programmes, designed for those who have just completed a university undergraduate degree, and are wanting to start a career. During the programme you work full-time for four days a week and spend one day per week completing a NFQ Level 8 qualification.

The Level 8 Higher Diplomas can be completed by graduates of all disciplines. The objective of these qualifications is to provide an entry point to specific sectors by giving students real industry knowledge and experience. Typically, you only need to have secured a 2:2 degree to be eligible to take up a place, with some basic English language requirements as well.

What does a Graduate Apprenticeship at Fidelity look like?

Our graduate apprentices complete the Higher Diploma in Financial Services Analytics offered by the National College of Ireland. This programme seeks to provide the appropriate education and training to allow successful graduates to be registered with SOLAS as an IFS Specialist.

Through their two-year programmes, apprentices will develop data mining, data management and data analysis skills relevant to Financial Services. At Fidelity, these skills could include developing an understanding of back and middle office operations, the trade lifecycle in securities instrument and fund structures, and client management.

We will also support you with developing your communication, prioritisation, and stakeholder management skills as well as introducing you to a global team environment.

As long as you meet the minimum entry requirements for the apprenticeship, we welcome an application from you. We aren’t looking to see particular universities or subjects on your CV. Our recruitment process is strengths-based and CV blind. We are more interested in finding someone with:

  • A passion for continuous improvement
  • Who works well within a team environment
  • Is flexible and willing to learn new processes as required
  • Takes ownership for their own workload
  • Shows initiative and a desire to learn

If you join us, the cost of your apprenticeship standard will be fully covered, you will receive a very competitive salary and the opportunity for a bonus, and you may even be offered a full-time role at the end of your programme.
