Development land

Property careers for graduates: development land.

Aerial view of a potential development land with a mix of green fields, trees, a pond, and hay bales in the distance.

Services include providing expert advice to land owners, developers, corporations and government departments. As well as acquiring and disposing of land for clients, you will advise on development options in terms of site appraisal, regeneration and development strategies and planning, ensuring that clients extract the best value from their landholdings. The service also includes advising clients on long-term property asset values.

Some companies manage the complete ‘project’ on behalf of the client. This includes national and international marketing, selling or acquiring development land, and liaising with solicitors, taxation consultants, planning advisers, architects, bankers and land surveyors.

You need excellent knowledge of property economics and management, along with financial and problem-solving ability and good communication and interpersonal skills.
