Nora O’Gorman (Business Excellence Graduate)

"Coming from a science degree into an engineering role I was nervous that it would be difficult to adjust. However, the colleagues I work with always take the time to teach me all I need to know. There’s a real culture here of learning and developing, everyone encourages everyone and already I’ve had the opportunity to complete many internal training courses. Additionally, I have been able to get involved in the Young Professionals Network resource group which is a great way to get involved with all of the other graduates and spend time with them outside of work.
It's fantastic to be able to say projects I work on have an impact for the better on patients' lives. And the skills I’ve developed have allowed me to do just that. It’s something I’m very proud of."

Jenny Laffan (Rotational Graduate)

"In June 2019, I joined the Materials Department in Boston Scientific on a 6-month co-op placement as part of my Masters in Managerial Information and Managerial Accounting Systems.
While I was on placement, I was informed that there was a new 23-month graduate role in development in BSC Cork with the graduate gaining experience in the Materials, Finance and Global Sourcing Departments. I applied for this role and in January 2020 I started this graduate program.
I began in the Materials Department and I was responsible for running reports such as the Expiry, IQC, WIP, Backorder etc. I also took over a new purchasing portfolio.
I have recently rotated into the Finance Department and I am finding it extremely interesting. It has given me a thorough understanding of how accountants operate within a manufacturing environment.
Since rotating over to Finance I have discovered just how interlinked the Materials and Finance Departments are.
The experience I have gained and knowledge I have learned thus far has been unbelievable. This graduate role is so unique and the experience I have gained and will gain is next to none. It is such a rare opportunity to gain experience in all three of these departments. What’s more is that these departments are so interlinked that when you rotate over you discover that you know a lot more than you realise."

Melvin Sunny – Graduate Manufacturing Engineer

"I started off my Boston Scientific journey as a GROW student working on the production line, from there progressing onto completing my course placement as a Process Technician and finally securing a functional graduate role within the manufacturing engineering department.
Looking back, I can clearly see how each part of my journey with Boston Scientific added value in shaping me into the individual I am today, it helped me to realise the importance and the positive impact my work has every day. One year into the graduate program, I am amazed by how much I have learned and achieved both personally and in my career. For me the best part of working in Boston Scientific is the people! I received continuous training and support as I levelled up in my responsibilities, and this really does make a difference when you are new to working world."

Aoife Dineen’ Graduate Quality Engineer

"The Boston Scientific graduate program has allowed me to develop my technical, problem solving, and communication skills in a fast paced environment.
As a graduate I was encouraged to take on responsibility for my area from the very beginning of the program, but also received constant support from team members.
The emphasis on quality of patient care in Boston Scientific serves as a constant reminder that we are making a positive impact on people’s lives every day."
