An academic qualification alone may not be enough to guarantee a career in retail management as employers favour candidates with experience of working in a retail and customer service setting.

Fortunately, retail is a broad sector offering multiple opportunities to acquire experience. While studying you could work part-time in a retail outlet, perhaps transferring to a full-time position during the summer. This may even lead to promotional opportunities.
