Auditors have the responsibility of determining how honest and accurate a business’s financial records are while also suggesting ways to reduce cost, enhance revenue and increase profits.

As a trainee auditor with Forvis Mazars, you will have the opportunity to work across a wide variety of clients including privately owned businesses, large corporates and multinational organisations.

From the outset, you will gain audit experience working as part of a collaborative team. As you progress you will be given more responsibility and become part of managing our client relationships and service delivery.

Forvis Mazars Audit & Assurance teams are split into specific areas; Public Interest Entities (PIE), Privately Owned Business (POB) and Financial Services (FS). Each area offers graduates the opportunity to pursue the ACA or ACCA professional qualification

Consulting

Our consulting team encourages collaboration, problem-solving and creative thinking. As a consulting trainee, you will work with interesting clients in the private and public sectors, whilst rotating into different consulting service areas, such as: business process improvement, strategy and transformation; organisational development, financial modelling and decision support; IT, people and regulatory consulting; Privacy and GDPR.

Every day is different for a consultant. You will be assisting different clients with their business’s challenges and developing tailored pragmatic solutions. Service rotations will help you to identify areas most suited to your abilities and we will support you with dedicated mentoring, coaching, technical upskilling and professional development so that you are set up for success.

Internal Audit

The role of internal audit is to provide independent assurance on risk management, internal controls and governance processes. We work with our clients to identify and critically evaluate the framework and controls in place in order to report any potential weaknesses.

Working as a Forvis Mazars’ trainee you will gain experience across a range of activities and gain a holistic view and valuable insight into how organisations operate while also developing a broad range of skills that will assist you in your professional career.

IT Audit

IT audit is an exciting and challenging environment working with clients of different sizes and sectors. IT audit is the set of technical skills that enable you to provide technical recommendations to improve our client’s IT environment and reduce risk.

Our IT audit training programme provides you with the opportunity to develop your knowledge and audit skills in areas such as IT governance, risk management, cyber security, data privacy, network security, digital forensics and incident response. Trainees are also provided the opportunity and support to successfully obtain internationally recognised industry certifications such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) as well as becoming familiar with a variety of other industry standards.

As a tax trainee, you will work with national and international clients, private and publicly quoted companies and high net worth individuals to help them to structure their businesses in a tax-efficient manner. Throughout your training contract, you will be part of a team developing tailored ideas and solutions to bring added value to your clients.

Forvis Mazars’ tax trainees are given the responsibility to work on both tax compliance and advisory in the areas of corporation tax, income tax, VAT, research & development and global mobility tax.

It’s not all about preparing tax returns! You will be in a unique position to recommend how to structure a business and advise on a range of tax issues which makes for very interesting, diverse and challenging work.

Financial Advisory

Financial advisory offers an in-depth training experience where you will combine fundamental technical accounting skills with commercial and practical skills essential to advising successful businesses. You will understand what makes a business viable, how it deals with challenging situations, and what its sources of finance are. The role will also give you a unique understanding of how experts in related professions such as finance, property and law make their decisions.

As a Forvis Mazars financial advisory trainee, you will work in a dynamic environment undertaking advisory and restructuring assignments with a focus on commercial decisions that deliver the best outcome for your client. You will develop a rounded skillset, with a focus on progression into leadership and relationship management roles with clients.

Corporate Finance

Forvis Mazars’ corporate finance team advises on trade sales, private equity rounds, venture capital, and management buy-outs, leveraging extensive experience across a wide variety of sectors both nationally and internationally. As a Trainee, you’ll collaborate closely with managers, directors, and partners, gaining hands-on exposure to all transactional aspects.

Our comprehensive training equips you with the technical skills to excel in your profession, learning from professionals with diverse backgrounds. You’ll master financial modelling, preparing businesses for sale, market strategies, auction management, due diligence coordination, legal due diligence, tax structuring, closing processes, and more.

Transaction Services

Your experience on the Forvis Mazars transaction services team will equip you with the technical skills and knowledge for a range of industries, including transaction services, corporate finance, private equity, mergers and acquisitions, and business modelling.

From day one, you’ll receive dedicated mentoring and coaching in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while applying your skills in real-world scenarios. This involves providing transaction support and financial due diligence to clients considering acquisitions or selling their businesses. You’ll develop strong analytical and technical abilities, including company valuations and business modelling.

Forvis Mazars’ financial management and outsourced accounting team support a variety of clients ranging from small owner-managed entities to large international organisations.

We provide integrated financial and accounting solutions to our clients. Our specialist areas are company set-up, accounting & finance transformation, business process management, group account consolidation and management reporting. Our service offering is bespoke to our clients and ranges from providing certain key accounting services to assuming full responsibility for their overall finance function.

We work closely with our international colleagues across the Forvis Mazars Group, collaborating and providing global accountancy compliance services to multi-national clients. By utilising the most up-to-date technology to streamline accounting processes, our support allows our clients to focus on the core functions of their business, safe in the knowledge that their finance function is operating at an optimal level.

Beginning your career on this team will give you direct exposure across multiple industries and various aspects of operating finance functions. As one of the largest outsourcing divisions in Ireland, we are there to support you on your career journey, where you will gain a rounded training that is core to any career as a finance director or CFO.

Company secretaries are in a unique position to assist companies with many aspects of their business including corporate governance and compliance. This unique role affords individuals the opportunity to become familiar with company law, financial matters and commerciality.

By training as a company secretary with Forvis Mazars, you will gain an insight into the importance of good governance, strong compliance and the impact that these have on a business.

From the outset, you will be responsible for the annual compliance of a portfolio of clients across a number of sectors. You will also receive on the job training on more complex matters including corporate changes and restructuring.

In your position assisting and advising several clients you will get an insight into how different businesses work and how different boards operate. You will also become adept at finding the right solution for your client, at the right time.
