Ellen Coleman - EY Graduate Profile

The SaT Graduate Programme has been a fantastic start to my career in finance. Coming from a hospitality background, having studied Hotel Management at an undergraduate level, I was keen to pivot into a finance role.

Participating in the EY NextGen Competition in 2020, while studying for my masters, gave me an in depth understanding of what a career in Strategy and Transactions might look like, and it seemed like the right fit.

Having no prior work experience in Corporate Finance, I was concerned that this change might have been too ambitious. However, this was not the case. My past 11 months in EY have been nothing short of exceptional.

The team at EY have given me every opportunity to grow both personally and professionally, as I have worked across a range of valuation and modelling projects. The programme is challenging, however extremely rewarding.

I even helped organise the EY NextGen competition this year, so I really have come full circle. The culture at EY has given me the opportunity to carve out a rewarding career through exposure to interesting and diverse projects and continued professional development opportunities.
