What does your role in Kingspan involve?
In my role as a Marketing Graduate, I support a wide range of marketing activities across the business. My responsibilities include coordinating internal communications such as newsletters, assisting with internal campaigns, managing website content, and supporting social media activities. The role has given me great exposure to a range of different areas within marketing and allows me to work on initiatives that reach both employees and external audiences.
What is the most interesting project you have been involved in since you joined?
One of the most interesting projects I’ve been involved in has been supporting Planet Passionate initiatives. This has included helping to coordinate volunteering activities and contributing ideas to make our office environment more sustainable.
It has been really rewarding to be part of projects that work towards Kingspan’s sustainability goals, while also encouraging employee engagement in the office.
What prompted you to apply to Kingspan?
I think the global presence of Kingspan was one of the main factors that initially attracted me to the company, particularly as it is an Irish-founded business.
The opportunity to be part of the wider Kingspan Graduate Programme was also very appealing, as it offers access to a broad network of colleagues and development opportunities across the Group.
Also, speaking with friends who had completed the programme in previous years further reinforced my interest!
What was your experience of the Kingspan graduate recruitment process?
Overall, it was a very positive experience. From the initial aptitude test phase, to the video interviews, and finally the assessment centre, there was an element at each stage that allowed people to showcase their strengths and qualities.
Have you any tips for someone else thinking of applying to Kingspan?
My biggest advice would be to research the company thoroughly and take the time to understand the Planet Passionate initiative and Kingspan’s wider business strategy.
Remember that it’s a graduate programme, so there’s no expectation to have extensive work experience. I think Kingspan is really looking for people who show a genuine willingness to learn, are engaged, and have strong people skills.
Looking back, what qualities and behaviours do you think you displayed during the recruitment process which made you a good fit for Kingspan?
I believe I demonstrated a genuine enthusiasm for Kingspan and its values throughout the recruitment process. I took the time to learn about the company, its sustainability commitments, and some major projects being delivered across the Group.
